My habitual fossicking in op shops, at garage sales and the new style thrift stores has earned me the nickname of "Second Hand Rose". My favourite things to collect are vintage fabric, old buttons, retro stationery and greeting cards. I visit around 5 or 6 op shops a week. A few of my friends also have this affliction.I've been op shopping since high school (25 years ago) and share my finds with friends and family.

What a beautiful photo.I tend to gravitate towards secondhand book shops and opshops with books. These days it is harder to find a bargain in books as many more people are collecting and this pushes the price up as well as actually picking things up more difficult.
My brother in law used to collect pottery, china and glassware cheap in opshops here and sell for a small fortune at some of the trendier Sydney markets. He even picked up a coffee set by one of the Boyds (potter) which only had the milk jug missing for $4 which was valued at around $250 by a specialist Australiana dealer!
I love the site.. I really hope you keep going with it
Jane Nicholas is one of my favourite embroiderers.. you might like to check out her work

Yay Diana! I love your blog and will add it to my faves, thanks for the comment on mine too....shocking though it was!I loved Trixie Beldon too, I thought she had a lot more spirit than Nancy Drew.
P.S. I LOVE this image- I have a terrible weakness for old ephemera, just about anything old on paper and I love it.
Diana, welcome to the land of blogging it is wonderful making contact with those out here who love the same as you do.
