Schoolgirl Shamus

My online friends know I had a childhood fascination with Trixie Belden - the schoolgirl shamus.
Today I printed and read a copy of James Keeline's paper on the book series and was really interested to find out about the various authors; Julie Campbell - the original author and Kathryn Kenny - a pseudonym for many others. The series runs to 39 titles and has inspired online forums and even a yearly camp which follows a theme from one of the books. This year's camp will be held around Niagara Falls.
Trixie is a freckle faced tomboy who with her brothers and friends creates a semi secret club - the Bob Whites of the Glen. The club does good deeds for individuals and organizations. In each book there is some kind of mystery that Trixie and her best friend Honey solve.
There are various editions and I am slowly rebuilding my collection because I did a Bob White thing and donated my original copies to my primary school library.

Dear 2ndhandrose
This is my second try at posting a comment on your blog. I forgot my password (or rather which password I used) so I had to start a new blog which gave me some extra practice. I took your advice and called myself Book Fairy. Thanks for that. I'll see you in class and let you know my new address. Thanks for posting on my other one. Thanks also for the Trixie literature. It was very interesting and it put me onto the other girl detective I was trying to remember- Robin Kane. Will chat with you tomorrow. Cheers
